Insurance Options for Medicare Beneficiaries
How Can We Help?
As independent insurance agents, we specialize in helping people find the right Medicare insurance plan to fit their individual needs. With over 15 years of experience serving clients across Florida, we can guide you through the differences between Original Medicare, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Medicare Supplements to ensure you make the best decision for your healthcare coverage. Don't let confusion or uncertainty stop you from having a better understanding of your options before you need to make a decision on your coverage.
Options for Medicare Beneficiaries
Original Medicare allows beneficiaries to choose any doctor or hospital that accepts Medicare, without requiring referrals, making it ideal for those who prefer freedom in their healthcare choices. But Original Medicare isn't right for many people. One of the main risks is that it doesn't cover all healthcare costs, particularly out-of-pocket expenses like deductibles, copayments, and coinsurance, which can add up over time. Additionally, Original Medicare doesn't cover important services like dental, vision, and hearing care, which can lead to unexpected costs if you need those services. Without supplemental coverage through a Medigap plan or a Medicare Advantage plan, you could be left with significant financial burdens from these gaps. Another risk is that Original Medicare doesn't have a cap on out-of-pocket spending, so if you have extensive healthcare needs, you could face high costs.
Medicare Advantage + Medicare Supplement
Medicare Advantage Plans, also known as "Part C", often provide additional benefits, such as vision, dental, and wellness programs, and typically come with lower premiums, but may have network restrictions, meaning you must use in-network providers for the best coverage.
Medicare Supplement plans (Medigap) work alongside Original Medicare, helping cover out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and copayments, providing more predictable expenses, but they come with an additional premium and do not offer extra benefits like Advantage plans. Each option has its own advantages depending on your healthcare needs, budget, and preference for flexibility versus additional coverage.
